We are very excited to share this special day with the people we love the most. It fills us with joy to celebrate our love surrounded by family and friends, and we can’t wait to live this moment together.

HOW TO GET THERE

THE DAY BEFORE

There are several options that can make your trip easier, depending on your place of departure.

The following options assume your arrival before the wedding day and accommodation in Gières:

  • Flight to Paris → Upon leaving the airport, take the metro or bus to the Gare de Lyon train station, in Paris, and from there you can take a direct TGV to Grenoble or Lyon. The trip takes approximately 2h to Lyon and 3h to Grenoble. If you arrive in Lyon, take a direct train to Grenoble, from there you can either take a  train or a tramway to Gières (around 10 to 20 minutes).
  • Flight to Lyon → From here, you have two options to reach Gières:
    • Option 1: Take a TGV train or a direct bus (Blablacar Bus) from Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport to Grenoble central station. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. In Grenoble, you can take a train or a tramway to reach Gières.

TOURISM

Grenoble is a city of approximately 200,000 inhabitants, crossed by two rivers: the Isère (which gave the region its name) and the Drac.

Surrounded by three mountain ranges (Vercors, Chartreuse, and Belledonne), it is one of the gateways to the French Alps. It is a great starting point for mountain sports activities (hiking, climbing, skiing, cycling, etc.). The city gained international fame by hosting the 1968 Winter Olympics, making it the second French city to do so.

It is also in this city that the movie “Perfume” was filmed, based on the novel by Patrick Süskind.

A must-see in Grenoble is a visit to the Bastille, an ancient fortress overlooking the city. You can get there by taking the “bulles” (bubbles): a local cable car departing from the center of town. For the more athletic, there is a hiking path that leads to the top (with a bit of effort).
The reward: a panoramic view of the city and surrounding mountains, and you can even see the Mont Blanc if the weather is clear. A view that you can enjoy with a coffee or a beer!
